Ian's trip to the hospital

Well last night ended with a bang... Ian came running in the house yelling and screaming that ants were biting him.. We got him cleaned off, undressed and checked him out..Well YES he got bit NUMEROUS times. Actually a better way of saying it would be that they FEASTED on his feat. He was wearing shoes so they only got him right above where the shoes stopped.. It looked like we had in under control as the swelling started, and I checked the Internet for a better treatment as Ian layed down with Tammy and continued to SWELL and PUFF up... Once I came into the room and took one look at him I knew it was time to HIGH TAIL it to the ER...

Once we got to the ER and the medicine started to kick in, he started to UN SWELL.. I usually don't get TOO nervous when the kids get hurt but this time I WAS.

So now that the night at the hospital is over and he has an EPI pin to use next time here are some pictures from the hospital.

Although you wouldn't believe it from the pictures he ONLY got bit on his feet and a couple on his calves!!

And this is what you look like when you get pumped with Benydryl and Epinephrine and other steroids, but man do they WORK !!

Shalimar Fire

Our guys got to do some work downtown yesterday, much better than getting called for salvage & overhaul.. This storm had some very bad lighting, and this was the result !!

Gate to Gate

Memorial Day, Gate to Gate run

Well this memorial date went by and I hope we have started a new Theriault tradition. Each Memorial Day here at Eglin AFB they have a race called the Gate to Gate.. The course used to run from the west gate to the east gate but this year they changed the course and added a DREADFUL HILL.

Anyway, we all went out this year. Since I have been running a lot to get in shape I have been thinking about doing the gate to gate. We registered 5 people for our Eglin Fire team and we looked AWESOME with out new shirts.. See the logo I designed..

The boys all registered for the Kids run. Tyler & Zach did 2 miles and Ian did 1 mile. Our Team did well considering it was the longest we have run and FIRST time we actually did it as a team. 4.4 miles is not easy task when you're toting around lots of weight like I am.

Here are a couple pictures of us before the race started with the roses to drop on the WWII memorial and after we all finished.

Yea I look a little big but I am wearing TWO shirts because I wasn't running with the white one on.. So you may be able to see my number and other shirt if you look closely

So now that we all did the Gate to Gate we at least have a time to beat next year..

Next blogg I think will be a colage of all my BIBS(as they call them) from my new found love (YEA right, love running..LOL) anyway, pretty soon I will be able to wallpaper a room with them.
